I just wanted to reach out because I finally got to try the crackers with my patient with Down Syndrome who I've been waiting to try them with. He was able to grasp the crackers and feed himself, biting pieces off, and even picked up smaller pieces. Mom cried in the session. She was so happy, and immediately wanted to buy some.
As a vibrant two year old living in Canada, Isabelle struggled with texture. She was still on puree. Her grandma wanted to see if Savorease could advance her texture. I was flying to Canada and brought some Crispy Melts with me and sent to her Grandma. She started with a few crumbs, and then a whole puff, and finally this pic taken by Isabelle’s Mom...She was feeding herself for the first time! Her Mom was so proud!
The best part is that Mom feels comfortable enough to give Crispy Melts to her son when he's not in therapy.
My client loved Savorease Therapeutic Foods! My client has been on a strictly puree diet by preference and demonstrates aversions or gagging to any solids. I introduced your crisps to their parent and coached them on how to use the crisps to work on biting and chewing. Because of COVID (mask wearing) it is still difficult to do direct hands on therapy. Their parent feels comfortable knowing that Savorease Therapeutic Foods will melt and are not a choking risk. They have been able to incorporate pieces into meal times and my client has been gesturing for more pieces. My client has also been interested in their parent’s solid foods now!
